Each week three OMB actors with a backdrop, props and a trunk full of colorful costumes perform a fun filled interactive play for our special audiences. Every performance is custom tailored to suit the population we serve. As a result, each OMB workshop is unique, fresh and fun!
We begin every six week cycle with Day 1 and conclude every cycle with Day 6. The other shows described below fill in the remaining weeks. Check out a description of the shows below.

Lucky and the Superheroes
Two superhero rivals face off to save the day, with the help of their superhero friends. But can they put aside their differences and work together for the greater good? In this delightful story of trickery, smarts, and superhero strength, Phunky Rooster and Faux Fox team up with the kids to save the day.
Current Shows
Day 1: We Believe in Make Believe
In this first day of Only Make Believe, we explore all of
the elements of theatre and introduce the kids to the tools necessary to create
the magic of theater through games of imagination. They will discover different
kinds of stages and the audiences that watch the events happening in these
arenas, from sports to classical arts.
We use costumes, props, music and mime to inspire the kids to use their
imaginations and create theatrical vignettes. The kids will also learn the Only
Make Believe song.
The Story of Briar Rose
The Story of Briar Rose begins on her 12th Birthday. She is
a bratty young princess, demanding and greedy, and makes the timid King’s life
difficult when she discovers that Orgella, Party Queen is late. Orgella offers
the princess a gift, a magic mirror. When Briar Rose refuses the gift, smashing
the mirror to bits, a magical spell is cast, leaving Briar Rose to sleep for 10
long years, after which time she will be awakened from her rest through the
kiss of the handsome prince only to find herself to be a new princess, having
learned the attributes of graciousness, patience and generosity, thanks to the
help of the young princes and princesses of the royal court, played by the
kids.
Iceland
This story takes place in IceLand, a village where
everything is made of snow, including its people. The laughter of the Ice Queen makes the snow,
and when it is discovered that the Queen has not been able to laugh for 99 days
and IceLand is beginning to melt, it is up to the kids to save the day and make
the Ice Queen laugh.
Eco-Babe
Trumpet Fish contacts Eco-babe in an urgent plea for
help. It seems that dastardly B.B. (Big
Business) has decided to build an underwater mall in Mermaid Sea, which would
pollute the water and drive away all the fish.
The audience joins Eco-babe and Trumpet Fish underwater in an attempt to
save the sea by bringing the Mermaid of Mermaid Sea back to life and get BB
back to the land.
Wonderboy Mickey, Circus Star
Mickey and his school chums head to Mr. Ringo’s Big Banana
Circus, where a member of the audience will be chosen to star as the headlining
act, walking the tightrope, blindfolded and without a net. When Mickey is
chosen to star in this feat, he must first face his fears. His schoolmates help
him overcome his fear of the dark and cheer him on to success as Wonderboy
Mickey, Circus Star.
Gamers
Lollipop & Lode, both expert Video game players, apply
for the prestigious job of Testers and a chance to go to the World Wide Video
Game competition in Vegas. Can they make it through all the levels of the video
game in order to land the job? Will they be brought to a halt by a very sneaky
snake or a box o’ bugs? Will they answer the questions correctly to get to the
next level? Will their progress be hindered by the good intentions of their
interviewer, Mr. T? With the help of the kids, Lollipop and Lode play the
strangest, the silliest and the yuckiest video game ever made.
Tuff
DumE
After
the self proclaimed “King” Tuff DumE. develops an overactive ego and dumps his
partner Rival Twin Cheeks from their recording duo, Rival and girlfriend Petal
involve the kids in a plan to teach Tuff DumE. a lesson. Petal, disguised as
“JeLo” with the kids as her entourage, poses as a fashion designer, winning the
honor of designing an outfit for Tuff DumE. to wear at the HipHop Fashion
Awards. Together, the kids and JeLo are able to dupe the King and offer him a
slice of humble pie.
Hocus Pocus
Pick me! Pick me! Hocus Pocus, a saucy sorceress, tempts
Socrates to pick the purple coconut. When he does, he gets three wishes and
discovers that there is much more to life than growing up quickly, winning
every game and being famous. Socrates and Hocus Pocus learn a lesson or two and
in the end everyone enjoys the trip to Coconut Island and some of Mama’s
delicious home made coconut flan. Olé!
Here You Go, Romeo
It's only hours 'till show time and Romeo the Lion, lead singer for the hit band "Romeo & the Romantics" has lost his roar! Will a trip to the A&P Store that sells grunts, squeals, and the occasional roar be the solution to his problem? Or will the sold-out concert have to be canceled?!
Rick Spacey
The Great Frump, Supreme Leader of the Frumps, has lost the
key to the gold frump storage room! All her gold frumps are locked away. And not
only that, all the frumps need paying! Enter: Rick Spacey, Space Detective.
With lessons from Rick about how to be a space detective, the kids and Rick
lead the search for the lost key. Along the way, we meet cowboys on planet
Yee-haw, speak a new language with Wobblies on planet Jelo, make friends with
Pirates and land on Davy Jones locker! With the help of the kids, we finally
find the key, and everyone gets paid.

Sherlock in Wonderland
In this jumble of a tale, the famous Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are
on a mission to find a little girl with blonde hair in a blue dress
named Alice, but SHH! Don't say her name too loudly! The worrisome
Rabbit informs us the temperamental Queen will throw a hissy fit if she
hears that little girl's name too loudly. Talking trees and silly
walking: it's all elementary! The kids bring their detective skills out
to play in this clever and enchanting tale.
Day 6: The Finale
On our last workshop of the cycle, we play scenes from the
other shows with kids playing the starring roles. We also have a certificate of
appreciation for each kid that has participated in Only Make Believe.
