Health and Safety Guidelines

Only Make Believe serves our community through interactive theatre performances and engaging special events. A vast majority of the children we serve are medically fragile or immunocompromised. The safety of our guests, staff, and audience is our number one priority! As such, the following health & safety protocols have been put into effect for all Only Make Believe programming and events.

Last updated and effective as of March 6, 2024. This page will be updated as we continue to monitor and implement appropriate measures for the health and safety of everyone we serve.

In Person Shows

In Person Shows:

Only Make Believe is currently booking in-person indoor performances with our partner facilities. Outdoor performances may be scheduled, though indoor “rain locations” are required.

FOR OMB STAFF/ACTORS:

OMB is no longer requiring masks or testing before performances. Masking and Testing may be required if visiting a partner facility that requires such measures. In addition, required rapid COVID testing may be requested by any member of the staff/acting team if a facility does not require it. Requests for required testing must be submitted to your supervisor after shifts have been assigned, and at least 24 hrs before a work shift begins.

Respiratory Virus Positive Diagnosis Procedure

  • Actors/Staff: Please contact an OMB staff member immediately if you test positive for COVID. You are not required to disclose any potential exposures, only positive diagnosis. OMB will contact any facilities or actors/staff that you may have been in contact with, keeping your name anonymous. As of March 1, 2024, You can return to work when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:

    • Your symptoms are getting better overall, and

    • You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).

A negative test will also be needed before returning to work. Masking may be required upon return for an additional 5 days.

Facilities: If a facility or other OMB partner tests positive, OMB will notify potential affected employees.

FOR AUDIENCE MEMBERS:

Due to the age and medical status of our target population, Only Make Believe recommends but does NOT require audience members to be vaccinated and/or masked for outdoor and indoor performances.
